He has a brief moment to wander the Force, now that Luke has destroyed the Death Star. He had made sure the boy had grown up safely and had been put into direct contact with his sister. He had even made sure that the first stage of events that would ultimately lead to Anakin's redemption was set properly into motion. He now has but a few moments - even though, to the living, years will pass - before he is needed in the corporeal world once more.

It is in these moments that he finds her. He isn't surprised when the smile he remembers lights up as he approaches.

Obi-Wan! You haven't changed a bit! She's quite pleased to note.

He looks down at himself and is suddenly aware that his form has changed. He is no longer the old man, doomed to be removed from the galaxy, but the vibrant, young Jedi Knight that had lived and loved to the fullest.

Padme. He smiles. You are more radiant than ever.

He can't tell, but she may just blush at the compliment. I've missed you.

I've missed you too.

Obi-Wan?

Yes, Padme?

I'm sorry.

He takes her hand, twining their fingers. What for?

For loving him, after loving you first.

He hugs her close. You shouldn't be sorry. It was the way things were meant to be. His salvation would not have been born, otherwise.

How are they?

They're fine. They're together again for the first time since they were infants.

She smiles sadly. I wish I could have known them.

You can, my love. We can watch over them together, now.

Yes, we can.

And they do.
