She did not know him, the man she had sworn to love forever.

It pained him greatly to sit with her and see the loving glint replaced with fear and uncertainty. She wouldn't even give him the benefit of bodily contact; she had removed her hand from his the moment she was able.

He had been asked to leave the room, as his presence agitated her and she needed calm in order to heal. They had said the ordeal had made her weary of others, and rightly so. Kidnapping and beating were hardly terms of endearment.

But she did not know him, and that hurt. It hurt more than seeing her body as lifeless as a corpse on that bed; it hurt more than knowing she was out there somewhere without him to protect her...

But Obi-Wan believed in miracles. And miracles could never run out.

They were strangers today, yes, but someday she would be his again.

After all, they had been strangers once before, and it had taken the miracle of love to make them one.

That miracle would make them whole once more.
